Browse Users

Here you can manage your site users. You can search them by their Real Name or Email. To see all users click Go without specifying any search criteria. You can apply following actions to any user or several users at once.

Delete - deletes user and all his content ( such as photos, videos, blogs and etc.)
Suspend - deactivates user. Suspended users are moved to the list under Suspended tab and can not access your site. Content (such as photos, videos and etc.) uploaded to the site by suspended user will remain active.
Re-activate - activates suspended user.
Mark email unverified- marks user's email as verified. Users with unverified emails won't be able to log in to your site. The list of all unverified users is available under Unverified tab. Note that this options is connected to Confirm Email feature.
Approve - approves users. Please note that this option is connected to Global Privacy Settings . If Mandatory User Approve check box is checked in global privacy settings, then users won't be able to use the site until they are approved by admin.

Inviting New Members

Use this button to invite new users to your site. Enter up to 50 emails (one per line) and click Invite button. Make sure to set an email address from which your users will receive invitation in Admin panel> Settings > Main Settings.

Invited user will receive an email with following content:

To change the content of the invitation email go to Admin panel> Settings >Language> find needed text using search box.

Recently Active

Here you can see the list of all users (20 users per page) with the latest active users being on top of the list. Use Select All check box at the bottom left corder of the table to select all users or check check boxes next to needed users to apply certain actions to several users at once. You can find description of action menu items above.

Suspended

Here you can see the list of all suspended users ( 20 users per page). You can either delete or re-activate selected suspended users.

Unverified

Here you can see the list of users with unverified emails ( 20 users per page). You can either delete or mark email verified selected users.

Mass Mailing

Mass Mailing

Use this section to send emails to several users at once.

Email format - allows to choose “plain text” or “HTML” format. Note that the actions menu of Email body block changes depending on selected format.
User roles- allows to send email to users with certain User Role.
Subject - subject of the email.
Email body - body of the email.

Note: Make sure that your mailing server is set on your hosting account. If you are using SMTP, make sure that you have set it here .

Profile Questions

Profile Questions

Here you can see and manage users' profile questions (create, edit, change their order and settings). Hover the mouse over question's name to see actions menu: delete and edit.

Note: Username, password, email, real name, gender and birthday are system fields and can not be deleted.

All questions are linked to certain Account Types. Account type is a useful tool that allows your site users to build “interest based” profiles. For example, you can have following account types: “Artists” and “Record Companies” and two different sets of profile questions separately for each type. Musicians will have profiles with information about their talents, instruments they play and etc. while record companies will have information about their activities, job offers, contests and etc.

Note: You should have at least one account type for the software to function properly. Oxwall package comes with one default account type called “Standard”.

As a site administrator you can link profile questions to needed account types when adding or editing questions in Admin panel> Users> Profile questions.

Editing sections and questions

To edit translation of sections' name hover the mouse over section's name and click edit button . To edit the question hover the mouse over question's name and click edit .

Question - click on question's name (in blue) to edit questions' name
Question description- click on the description (in blue) to edit it or on No value text (in blue) to add a description.
For account type- allows you to choose the account type for particular question.
Section - choose the section under which the question will be displayed.
Answer type- choose the type of answer from the drop down list. In case the answer type has several predefined options, those options will be displayed under the Answer type drop down. You can drag'n'drop options to change their order and add new values.
Required - check this check box to make the field mandatory.
On sign up - question should be on the registration page.
On profile edit - question should be available for user to edit.
On profile view - question should be shown on profile view page. Complete profile information will still be visible to profile owners, site administrator and moderators with admin rights.
On search- question should be used for User Search.

Note: Some actions can not be applied to system fields like username or password

If you have a lot of profile questions you may want to divide them into sections. You might have the following sections “Basic info”, “Contacts”, “Interests”, so on and so forth. Profile Question Sections allows you to add new sections. Just type in desired section name and click add button.

Add questions

Here you can add new questions. Fill in the form and click either save or save and Add New button. Newly added question will appear in selected section under Profile Questions tab.

Edit Account Types

Hover the mouse over account type's name to edit or delete it. Exclusive questions column shows how many questions are assigned to certain account type. To see the list of all question of certain account type use Profile Questions tab.

Drag'n' drop account types to change their order. Use Add New Account Type form to add new types.

Settings

Check View sections as tabs check box if you would like to display profile question as tabs on profile view page.

Restricted Usernames

Restricted Usernames

Use this page to add usernames which can not be used on your site. Nobody will be able to register on your site using username you've restricted. To remove username from resctricted list hover the mouse over it and click delete button.

User Roles Management

User Roles Management

Here you can create new user role and delete existing ones. Default label near the role's name means that all newly registered users will have this particular user role upon registration and will be granted permissions associated to it.

Note: Permissions are available actions for different user roles. More information about permissions can be found here.

For example, if “Free” user role is a default one, then all users will be assigned “Free” user role upon registration and will be able to execute actions specified in permissions of this role.

Drag'n'drop needed role to the top of the list to make it default .

Click on role's name to translate/edit it's title .

Click on Yes/No value under Label on Avatar column to add/remove role's label on users avatar .

Click on the number in blue under # of Users column to see the list of users with certain user role.

Select needed roles using check boxes next to each user role and click delete button to delete them.

Add New Role

Here you can add a new role. Enter role's name and click Add button. Added user role will appear in the User Roles Management table. Once the new user role is created go to Permissions page. You can find instructions on how to set up permissions here
